I don't know what the son thought. I think the validity of her opinion does not depend on that. I've thought my children were wrong before, haven't you?
I think she is sincere. The left-wing (judging by my inbox) did not take up her cause until she had already been there a day or two, so it would seem she is nobody's tool. Now that she has been ignored though, she is a powerful symbol and a point of focus for all those who feel as though the Democratic party has been far too timid in its opposition to this president.
