Gruss, you're ranting. You know I'm no Bush fan, but in all truth, his reaction time was irrelevant. The reaction time of the FDNY, NTSB, Air National Guard, etc. THOSE were critical. None of them were dependent on the President to move them to action. They are all empowered to deal with emergency situations without waiting for some presidential blessing.
Keep in mind that when the first plane hit, it wasn't even known that it was a terrorist attack. And even if it was known, the President jumping up immediately wouldn't have changed anything because there was no role for him to play at that moment. The various military and emergency services were all the key decision makers at that moment. Was he sitting there with a stunned look on his face? Yes. Did he have any immediate role to play in dealing with the situation? Not to my knowledge. If you have knowledge of specific operational procedures that the President should have taken to make any difference, please share. -Kevin On 8/24/05, Gruss Gott <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > The nation is under attack - it doesn't matter if it's Russians, > Cubans, Terrorists, etc. And the President had no idea who it was at > the time anyway.
