Our existing Nothing are going to work with High Def video, apparently.

High Def video must be pumped encrypted to the monitor over an HDMI connection.
So my shiny new 24" Dell LCD monitor that does 1080i will not be able
to play back HD content from any source once such content becomes
released. And this has nothing to do with Vista , as my monitor accepts
component inputs and I can bypass the . The only thing that will stop
this is if consumers reject the new format.

Vista is simply accomodating the standards that the MPAA set for
itself. There is the option to include low definition 480p content on
a Disc for systems that do not have HDMI, but they aren't forced to do
so.

Waiting for the crack to come out from Russia or somewhere soon.
I believe this will kill HD content on Linux or any Open Source OS as
well , since I am thinking you will need a license to write software
that can operate with the Encrypted media stream and play it back, but
I'm not sure about that.
