That's not bad... but they would have to also have something to do with the outside world... Hurley's lottery numbers, Jack's fiancée (which had no, revealed, connection to the numbers yet) and the various other things that dragged people to the island. They were all huge in scope. (As an aside - I thought it was a little cheesy that they introduced "Devon" (what that his name?) in the same show that they revealed his connection to the island like that. It seemed way too clumsy, too heavy-handed for an otherwise very subtle show.) Either these psychics can affect world events on such a scale (and the reasons for doing it in those specific ways would have to be pretty elaborate) or it's something else. But it also explains why Walt is important... if he's (as they've intimated) a latent psychic. The might put suggestions in the minds of "the others" (people who have already fell into their control and, in many cases, had their minds broken by it) to fetch him.
