The people I know in therapy don't get better, they just > keep going. I used to think the same. We found the right therapist I guess. I have noticed that a lot of people I talk to about therapy seem to think that whatever therapist you get dealt initially is the one you have to stick with. Find an approach that works. I also notice that some people wear it as a badge. It's not. not if you're taking it seriously. not if you have goals. > WTF happened to being stoic? Tried that. Ignoring the problem doesn't make it go away. And yes I understand the underlying tenets of stoicism. Not a solution, simply a method of coping. > Doing wtf you need to do? What does that mean? Suck it up and deal? Everybody's got problems? Your's and mine don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world? > I'm sorry, and this post isn't targeted at anyone in particular, I just > have serious problems with the 'you need help' mentality that is so > pervasive in our society today. People in pain is a much better alternative? > You know what, people are imperfect. Yes they are. And they will continue to be. > To many people are quick to jump up and say, screw it I'm not doing this > anymore, or 'we need to see someone'. yeah, there's the one's that say fuck it all, let's get a divorce, too. Let somebody else deal. > Deal with your spouse. And his/her past. And yours. > You married them. Yup. I married my wife, and all her baggage. And I for one am not willing to give up on her simply because it's hard work being married. But I also recognize that I cannot solve (and shouldn't) her problems. I can listen when she needs to talk, i can talk when I need to and she'll listen. > Peoples word, my own included sometimes, means very little these days. > > /me loves to hate, hates to love :) > > bad bad weekend and day.
