However this in not a big drunken frat party with a beach place. It's
a lazy wind swept island with no buildings taller than the palm trees.
There's little town called San Pedro to walk to (or drive your rented
golf cart to) and there you can play volleyball, etc.

It's a quiet walks on the beach, read a book type of place. It's got
some of the best fishing, diving, and snorkling in the world and the
trips to the Mayan ruins are cool if you like Tomb Raider/Rain forest
type adventure.

The island is 1/2 mile from the mainland (so you fly or boat in) and
1/2 from the world's second largest barrier reef.

Suggestions:

1.) Go reef fishing with Savaro. He drives you around in his 10
person boat and you do what you want. Dive for lobsters, fish for red
snapper or white tail, snorkle, explore any of the 1000 islands. The
best is stopping for lunch and grilling your catch over coconut
shells.

2.) Go snorkling with Alphonse. Go to shark ray alley, the reef, and
DONT MISS night snorkling. You'll remember it forever.

3.) Go into town at least one night and see the chicken drop (wed) and
party in one of the "dance clubs".

4.) Do the Altun Ha Mayan ruin trip.

5.) If you're really into fly fishing, go bone fishing. Savaro was on ESPN
