We had a whole years worth of "life skills." We learned to balance checkbooks and do our taxes (all the way up to a 1040 with itemized deductions), etc.
Of course, this was in a podunk town where there were no AP classes. Interesting, eh? My school was shit and they taught that stuff. But, trig or calculus? Nope.
