And "The Lone Gunmen" and "Strange Luck" and "John Doe" and "Space: Above and Beyond" and "Futurama" and "Millenium" and "Greg the Bunny" and... well, a lot. Innovative television goes to Fox to die. Perhaps because surrounded between "The Simple Life", "Nanny 911" and "The Swan" you don't notice the stink of the corpses. All that said I must admit that this is one of Fox's strongest seasons yet... although they are falling to formula. "House" and "Bones" are both excellent, if uninspired forensics shows. "Arrested Development" is still the best half-hour show available and "Kitchen Confidential" is worlds better than I thought it was going to be. "24" and "Prison Break" are both top-shelf dramas (although I don't watch either). My big problem is Fox's propensity to test out shows which comprise broad, long story arcs and then drop them with no explanation or chance to redeem. Most of the shows I mention above left huge, gaping storyline elements left open. That's one reason why I'm loath to watch "Prison Break": I'm just not sure if Fox is going to pull the rug out from under it.
