Ray, between the abortion threads and the "Catholics need to get with the times and stop worshipping idols" thread, it's sort of a blur. But probably <g>.
I'm against abortion, but more against making women who don't want to give birth do so. Personally. I had always though the argument against was that it was murder, and that if God created a life it is arrogant to end it. I am not prepared to state that this is a current or correct statement of the Church's position . I also have to say that Catholicism is a very complex body of thought and although the Church has done many wrongs in its time and in my opinion been wrong many times as well, I dislike seeing it reduced to some sort of caricature by people who can't be bothered to understand what they are belittling. I dunno why this otherwise enlightened group insists on going there. Again. It puts me in the position of defending an organization that once would probaly have burned me as a witch, but truth is truth.
