I don't think it's a question of easy or hard to implement. In my
expereince, users and developers both mostly think of Flash as something for
annoying ads, overwrought and hard to use portfolio web sites, or trivial
little time wasters. It is, but those of us indoctrinated into the Cult of
Macromedia know that it's also more. AJAX just doesn't have that baggage.

I think it's about mindshare, not technology.
