It also put this country into a 5 trillion dollar debt. Prior to the Reagan era we were only $200 billion in debt, about normal. But then, what the hell, Americans are buried in debt. The idea that any country would attack us is pretty silly. I doubt Al Queda has the resources to build a space-based anything or even semi-ballistic missile systems. Unless we spend ourselves broke on military develop (remember the same story all you guys use about how Ronnie spent the 4 trillion to "break the Evil Empire" in an arms race), we have little to fear from any country. Even China would be hard put to attack us.
