what is the size of the population from which you draw this conclusion? I'd
be speculating, but I am guessing it's probably pretty small. Furthermore,
southwest Virginia, hmm, odds are that you were dealing with people who were
homeschooling for religious reasons. Much as I may defend the Catholic
church from unjust criticism from time to time, faith is not known for
enhancing critical thinking ability.
