The area's on the rise. When we moved there it was REALLY on the rise -
IBMhad just built a huge plant right on the outskirts of
Saugerties/Kingston. Housing prices doubled in less than a month.

But that plant was closed down less than 10 years later and the towns
suffered a lot.

But a decent places near the ski slopes will always be in demand. And more
and more NYC dwellers are moving north telecommuting. Housing prices south
of Saugerties (Newburgh for example) are sky rocketing. My mother-in-law
and her partner have a house in Rock Tavern,NY - only about 10 minutes from
Stewart Airport.

In the past five years the value of that property has gone from just under
$80,000 to just over $300,000.

Madeline (my mother-in-law's partner) is actually leaving the house to my
kids (her family doesn't accept her). My grandparents are leaving their
house outside Buffalo to them as well.

So while I can't afford a house at all my kids'll have a gluttony of choice.
