They're really the perfect PS2 controller - better than the first generation logitech's in every way (they take fewer batteries, are smaller and lighter, have a much better RF dongle, and significantly enhanced analog sticks). They last forever on two AA's (I'm up to 55 hours on FF X-2 with no battery changes... and I can't remember how old they were to begin with!) Highly, highly recommended. Stay away from the first generation one tho' - they look very different (much larger and with a wired RF dongle) so they're easy to spot.
