I think you're talking about the first generation Logitech's - not these.
(These are much better, I think.)

These only take two AA's (and last longer!) and are just a hair bigger than
the standard dual shocks.  Also they have "normal" (convex, rubber coated)
analog sticks instead of the concave, hard plastic ones (which ALWAYS
slipped on me) than the first generation has.

Also they came out at $20 cheaper than the first generation ones.  ;^)
