I wonder if that travel pattern is a common practice? I did the exact same thing when I went. Flew into Shannon, rented a car and drove south-southwest down to around Waterford, stopping a few times overnight at little B&B's. We then did a counterclockwise loop North up through to Dublin, again stopping a few times at some friend's homes and B&B's along the way. I think our trip was for like, 7-8 days. Really, if I ever go back, this is the way I'm going to do it again. You get to see so much of the countryside, and it really is beautiful. I'm getting all itchy to go again. Damn you, Gruss!
