Not at all, it was meant to be a little funny.

Back then, I thought I'd never want to stop chatting. Back then, a few of
my friends and I would get on chat at 10 am and not get off until midnight,
this on AOL over a dialup connection, long distance. It was a time of
wondrous exploration. Meeting girls this way was like dating every girl I
ever wanted to date at the same time. This list feels like that now, except
I'm not really involved this time.

But back then... I was the guy who had an Internet underwear model
girlfriend. Honestly. Seriously. Really, I'm not joking. The whole thing
blew up when she had to come clean because we started making plans to meet
in Italy, where I was stationed on a Navy ship. I was going to fly her in
to meet me. Then she dropped the bomb on me and I got the "real pictures".

Whoa.

Ah, to be back in 1995...

Is that your subtle way of saying I'm infantile and you'd like me to leave?
