So I 've read plenty on this Woodward thing and here's what I don't understand:
Mr. Woodward says he's "pushed" his source to allow him to release his name, but the source refuses. Yet Mr. Woodward also says the source told him about Ms. Plame in a casual "gossip" type manner and that shortly thereafter he told fellow WP reporter Walter Pincus about Ms. Plame, but Pincus denies this. So why would Mr. Woodward be protecting a source that delivered information in such a casual way? Why didn't he pass this info along waaaaayyy back when. If Mr. Woodward is so convinced there' s nothing to this case, why not pass the info along especially given that he'd already told Mr. Pincus what he knew? Something doesn't add up especially given Mr. Woodward's public comments about the case. PS - here's about the best summary I've read on the matter: Early speculation on why Woodward's undisclosed source on Valerie Plame's identity spilled the beans is that this is part of an effort to exculpate Scooter Libby. I don't understand how that's supposed to work. Libby stands accused of telling investigators that he first heard Plame worked for the CIA from Tim Russert. Russert denies this, as do several other reporters, as do several government officials who say they discussed the matter with Libby. What's Woodward got to do with it?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how to get a fax number that sends and receives faxes using your current email address http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=64 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:182782 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
