We have to stay becuase of the Pottery Barn rule - we broke it now we have to fix it. If we leave now the country will likely become far worse than it is now and might even erupt into a 3-way civil war and could potentially draw Turkey, Syria and Iran into the conflict. We have to stay until the country is stabilized.
