Yeah, that is true, sense 1998 the Jeep Grand Cherokee has been growing to keep up with the counterparts from Ford and GM. Mine is actually a bit smaller than my wife's new Ford Escape.
By modern standard my 98 Grand is a compact SUV, but the current 2005 and 2006 models are full size. The funny thing, as far as the back seat goes, the 2006 Ford Escape has better room than 2006 Jeep GC.
