The SUV isn't for the kids. It's for Mom and Dad.  It's much easier
getting the kids in their car seats in the SUV (less bending over with a
20 - 40 lb kids in arm trying to maneuver them in or out of a car seat
at odd angles that are far more apt to create back trouble).  It also
has added room for the strollers, diaper bags, toys, etc...

MY two kids fit quite well into a Camry. Now that my son is pushing
5'10 he probably prefers the back seat of the Jeep to the back seat of
the CRV but kids don't necessarily require an SUV.
