I knew guys that whined about it when we deployed. They knew it was a risk, but they hadn't thought that it would hit you know what I mean? "Daddy and Uncle Joe did 20 years and never deployed"
I mean I came from an active duty background, and had been overseas with guard kids before, so I knew it could happen. Virginia at least has another volunteer force that is really the states last resort, they can't deploy and they can't be federalized. I can't remember what they are called, I knew a kid in the guard whose dad was an officer in it. Something like the Virginia Civil Defense Force or something. I mean, seriously anyone that enlisted or reenlisted after 911 (which I did) should have expected they were going to deploy. Most enlistments are three years. The guard for some reason sucks a lot more kids into 6 year contracts. So at worst all the people that don't want to deploy anymore should be out over the next year or two. > -----Original Message----- > From: Gruss Gott [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Tuesday, November 29, 2005 3:14 PM > To: CF-Community > Subject: Re: On a Mission From God > > > T-Bone wrote: > > The National Guard contains all of the Combat Arms units, while the > > reserves contains all of the support units. > > > > Huh.
