Agreed, if not for Aldrich Aimes, we might not even be having this
conversation.

I'm not necessarily against this, but it must be tightly controlled. I think
what many are afraid of (myself included) is Bush's seemingly cavalier
attitude toward the whole thing.

I watched the press conference and he seemed to say "I know I did it, I'm
going to keep doing it and I dare anyone to stop me" (all IMO of course)

This is cloak and dagger stuff that should've stayed under the cloak. Aimes
crippled our intelligence operations and it will take decades to rebuild it
and stuff it back under the rug. All at a time that we need a functioning,
on the ground, reliable intelligence network and we don't have it.

But he didn't know he was being investigated.
What Bush is doing is also for National Security. I'm not saying
Clinton was wrong, just that he went a lot further than Bush did and
very few complained.
