I'd have thought that you would be close enough to cattle country to get 
good beef.  Actually, I've never heard of anywhere in the US that you 
couldn't get good beef.  Is it really that bad in Phoenix?  Or is it much 
better than what I'm used to here?  I did cook a really fine Prime Rib for 
Christmas that was out of this world.  I bought a brand of meat called 
"Hereford" from the Harris Teeter grocery store.  It was more expensive 
(about $1 extra per pound) but I think it made a big difference.
