For what it's worth very few TVs seem to have built-in HDTV decoders... most
are "HDTV-ready".

I've actually been very pleased with Comcast's HDTV lineup: all five
networks, PBS, Discovery HD, two original programming channels, several
cable channels (TNT, ESPN, etc) and five or so premium channels (HBO,
Showtime, etc).  There's also a (small) selection of HD programs OnDemand.

I get at least three times the HD channels that I could receive over the air
and a DVR to boot.  The HD DVR box (Dual Tuner) is an extra $8/month.

All told it's very well worth it to me.
