Maybe I can help you understand capitalism by giving you an example of where I think the US is hurting the 3rd world - by not being capitalist enough. Farm subsidies. The US pays farmers billions, many times NOT to grow food. While this is great for corporate farmers it's also socialist. Because the subsidies defy the market they lower the costs for delivering food for US farmers. Because the US farmers have artificially low costs due to socialism, 3rd world countries can't compete. Because they can't compete they starve or grow drugs. The same thing happens with manufacturering. So there you go. The real inequity the US delivers to the 3rd world is socialism. Were it to take a global capitalist approach you'd see wealth spread to the 3rd world since their major asset is labor. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:191145 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
