There is an easy way.

Lucent make a USB wireless ethernet adapter.

It costs about the same as PCMCIA Cards. I have used one before, it worked 
pretty well. I got mine from CDW.

There is a hard way. If the system has a free PCI slot, you can buy the 
PCMCIA Card and Card Reader, Most manufactures sell them as a kit for Desktops.

I am not familiar with the iPAQ so I don't know if you can open it or not.
