I may have a unique perspective, given that I (obviously) enjoy piercings. Some of my girlfriends and my sister have their nose pierced and it's very tasteful and understated --and on them it looks quite pretty. It's also very mainstream.
Are they going to kick out the kids with highlights in their hair? or even a non-standard hair colour at all? or maybe a shade of lipgloss that is a little unusual? One thing would suggest... I have a clear retainer for my tongue that I use for fancy occasions or speaking to more conservative groups --perhaps there is a clear retainer for her nose? An experienced piercer could likely put it in for her now, during the healing period.
