Well, I can't speak for tBone, but I run into them all of the time. They don't claim to be commies, but they're effectively commies. Of course that has a bad ring to it, but here's what I mean: If you believe that government should be the main delivery agent of solutions to social problems, then you're effectively a commie. I think gov't's role is in making policy incentives, but that social problems are best handled by the free market. Commies believe that gov't should actually do the fixing. For example, welfare is a commie program. It gives people money for being poor. That's the problem with "safety nets". Who among us would work if we could get what we want without work? Soon the safety net become the primary source of income. As I've said I know a girl who schemed to get pregnant with her HS friends because then they'd have it made living on Welfare. Worked out for her for awhile too. Until Pres. Clinton. Social Security, on the other hand, is not a commie program. It takes your money, saves it, and then gives it back you. Theoretically. Basically it's gov't doing the smart thing with your money. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:194429 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
