If I try to cut through your evasions, you seem to be claiming that a minimum wage does make sense because it lifts all boats. That is, the gov't should take money from efficient capital users (businesses) and give it to inefficient capital users (min wage employees) because then there'll be more money for them to spend. More pocket money means more spending which means a larger economy, etc. I think this is as daft as the Laffer curve for roughly the same reason which I won't touch here. It's seems enough to point out that min wage employees deserve no reward for *choosing* the lowest skilled jobs in a local economy when they are capable of earning much more by simply using the same access to education and capital that higher earning workers have. I'd guess you've had a few student loans in your life. That's risk. Why should I get the same benefits as you without the risk? If the answer is "you shouldn't" then there should be no minimum wage. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:194892 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
