I think here is the essence of what is bothering me about this thread. We seem to be speaking, in code, about black teenagers having babies. While this does happen, in fact most welfare recipients are white, adult divorcees who receive benefits for less than two years. That's welfare=TANF.
I'll agree that she should be getting alimony, or child support, but this is not about to happen since in the current polical climate, and this thread bears it out, it is HER fault these babies exist, and we would prefer to spend more money being punitive than to somply deal with the problem.
