One of the reasons I use a NAS (in one case, a Linksys NAS with 2
external USB 2.0 drives) is to share the drives amongst my home
network without worrying which desktops I am coming from or have
powered up. I was alsways before having to poiwer up computers to get
at their drives, and those computers would drive the room temp in my
apartment out the roof.
