I want a waffle maker where the plates come out. When I was a kid, we had
one where the plates flipped over so you could do waffles or flat griddles
(which I used to make grilled cheese). It also made the thin waffles. All I
ever see now are Belgian style waffle makers. And, while those are good, I
kind of miss the skinny ones - they got so much crisper. Here's a good

I did mine dairy free and whole wheat, and they were still tasty and crisp
(if a little on the eggy side).
