The fact that he's been shot has already been disclosed to the press, so what. So by your reasoning, anyone that receives Medicare should have to disclose their medical conditions to the press as its tax payer dollars that are being spent on their medical care. Hmmmmmmm. Let's keep government out of our lives, but let the press in our bedrooms.
