In Evansville, the majority of lights, on major streets, are timed so that when the opposite lane's left turn signal turns yellow to red, I have five seconds before my light turns green. I silently count to five, then punch it. My Corvette only has 243 horses, so there are a lot of newer cars that can give me quite a run. My main edges are the lightweight body and fat tires. Well, that and the jump I get by timing the lights. After I get in front of the pack, I then keep it at a reasonable speed and let the others catch up. However, I try to stay in front so that I get to be first in line at the next light. In case you haven't been in Evansville, IN, our Lloyd Expressway is littered with stop lights. It is a national joke. Then, I like to get back out to the country roads and glue those fat tires to the curvy passes. I like to see how much I, and the car, can handle on those zig-zag roads. (Safely, of course. I never do this when there is oncoming traffic.) With the top down, in the summer, it's the next best thing to sex.
