Is a rape of a member of a specific minority a racial crime if the rapists are under the assumption that females of that minority really want it or they like rape? If the answer is no, then this is not a racial or hate crime. If the answer is yes and the perception of the victim doesn't matter, then it is. This is not the depths of Iran where Jews are depicted on TV as ghouls who steal the eyes of children. This is 21st century France. I guess if they were torturing him because they thought he had horns it would not be a racial crime either?
