>The US Ambassador to the UN has begun describing a unilateral,
>unsanctioned,Nuclear attack on a sovereign country which the US
>*perceives* to be a threat.

Actually, that is NOT what happened at all.
Besides the obviously hostile language used in the article like:
"radical groups like the inner circle of the Bush Administration"
the author is the only one who makes mention of nuclear weapons.
"possibly involving nuclear weapons"
No mention was made of them by bolton. The author is stringing a past plan to a
current talk without having a direct link other than both of them being
American. Not enough for real journalism.
The only one talking about nuclear strikes and "Conplan 8022" is the author,
not Bolton.
As for the authors mention that Iran has no weapons that can affect America,
Iran itself says that it can hurt us. Who should we believe? Iran or the
author? And as for Iran telling their co-religionists to work with the
Americans in Iraq, that is so much bull shit.

So bottom line is that the author is just posturing himself rather than stating
fact. He's stringing things together to fit his idea of truth, not what was
actually said or is actually happening in the world.
Here's the problem . The post ignores the history and facts on the ground. Iran
is not some innocent country that was just threatened by big bad US. It's a
country that has violated international treaties, threatened fellow UN members
with destruction, sent weapons to 'militants' in Iraq, threatened "harm and
pain" on America for bringing them before the UN security council for their
violation of their signed agreement, and stated quite openly that they have
been fooling others in their quest for nuclear 'something'. They also send
shipments to terrorists on a regular basis (Lebanon admited that they allow
weapons shipments from Iran through to Hizballah) and have threatened to
basically cut off the Persian gulf.
Does all this look like a reason to threaten? Does all this look like a reason
to 'posture'? Yes.

A few references that the author missed are below. You might want to send them
to him so he gets a clue as to what's happening.

THE man who for two years led Iran's nuclear negotiations has laid out in
unprecedented detail how the regime took advantage of talks with Britain,
France and Germany to forge ahead with its secret atomic program.

In a speech to a closed meeting of leading Islamic clerics and academics,
Hassan Rowhani, who headed talks with the so-called EU3 until last year,
revealed how Tehran played for time and tried to dupe the West after its secret
nuclear program was uncovered by the Iranian opposition in 2002.
