GG, you see the news this morning? Looks like I wasn't be skeptical enough
damn it.

Increase in American troops, and 80 some dead in mass graves. Fuck.

I do have to say this, we know that Syria and Iran are at a minimum
sponsoring foreign fighters. Just to confirm this I asked a couple of
friends, and they had personally arrested or killed people traveling on
Syrian passports that weren't from Syria, and seized weapons from sources in
Iran.

Of course the one that was there most recently got home like 6 months ago.

Something to look at. When I was in Afghanistan it was well known that
there were various Iranian intelligence officers running around western
Afghanistan trying to buy warlords like we were. While they weren't attack
the coalition or Afghanis they were sponsoring it.

Also the statement "Some of the most powerful IEDs we're seeing in Iraq
today includes components that came from Iran." is true. He's didn't say
the Iranian government supplied them, only that they came from Iran, meaning
were built in and smuggled from Iran. Just like with Pakistan there could
be elements of their intel services acting on their own.

Subject: General Pace Calls Bush Out

Text From Bush's Speech on March 14, 2006:

"Some of the most powerful IEDs we are seeing in Iraq today includes
components that came from Iran."

Later, however, when asked whether the United States has proof that Iran's
government was behind these developments, Marine Corps Gen.
Peter Pace, chairman of the military's Joint Chiefs of Staff, told a
Pentagon briefing, "I do not, sir."

So what's the deal? Is Bush pumping intelligence again? It looks like it.
And kudos to Gen Pace for calling him on it.
