I like the Hammer's Slammers books, but not a whole lot else from Drake. The honorverse is awesome. I am rereading "The Shadow of Saginami" right now. I also like the Elizabeth Moon series. The Sten books are pretty good, too. For bad pulpy military sci-fi, the Casca books jump to mind.
