Well, Isaac Hayes might not have the kind of influence that Tom Cruise does :)

Walking away is (in my own very humble opinion) his way of "throwing a
fit".  Which I would have been ok with if not for the fact that I find
it to be terribly hypocritical that he's made a good deal of money
making fun of everything else under the sun.

I would have respected him if he chose to walk away early on.  If he
had said, "you know, I'm sure I can make some lucrative money with
this...but I'm uncomfortable with the way the show belittles and
disrespects people's beliefs and cultures."

Nope.  He went right on belittling and disrespecting until it hit a
little too close to home for him.  Too late to walk away now, if he's
going to cite that as the reason :)
