Hey all...as of yesterday evening, back home from the sleep apnea surgery. Still too soon to know if everything is going to be resolved or not. Everything's still kind of puffy and swollen, so breathing's none too good. Hurts just about as much as everyone said it would. But still, if it fixes the apnea issues, it'll be worth it (IMO).
On kind of an unfortunate side note...i was supposed to have been discharged on Tuesday morning (the day after the surgery)...but they noticed lower oxygen levels in my blood than what they had hoped to see. A barrage of tests later, and early stages of emphysema show up on a CAT scan. So...kinda sucks. But at least it was caught early. Doc says that if I can stay a non-smoker, everything should be manageable. If not, I'll be carrying around an oxygen tank within the next 10 years. So i'm gonna be shooting for the no smoking thing. Once swelling all goes down and there's more of a definitive "yes or no" as to whether or not the apnea issue is going to be resolved, I'll post some updates. -- Charlie Griefer ================================================ "...All the world shall be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you.
