I haven't read that specific book, but I have read some of his other works.

I agree, I don't think it can be avoided.  I don't think it is happening as
fast as some people do.  I think it is the natural progression of
government, it grows and grows in scope until the people are forced to rise
again and bring it back within it's limits.  We have been lucky in that this
far the political atmosphere has been like a pendulum, swinging back and
forth, spending most of it's time in the bearable middle areas.  Now, what
do we do when it slows and stops, which to me would mean some sort of
totalitarian state, left or right wing doesn't matter, the result is nearly
identical fro the average citizen.
