Wait a second. The federal method of voting, through the electoral college,
(article 2 section 1 and the 12th amendment) is already a simple majority
vote.

It was already found to be flawed and that's why it was amended. I think we
need another constitutional amendment. We have hundreds of years of history
to show that the electoral college isn't working. I mean hell, the members
of the electoral college don't even have to vote they way their state does,
and that has already happened in the past. There have also been flip flop
incidents where an elector has voted one way, and then changed their vote.

The set up of the legislature should be such that it prohibits the kinds of
population based strong arm bullshit you are talking about. Remember the
president doesn't draft legislation, he only either signs it into law or
vetoes it. That's all. This debate is only about the executive branch.

If you want to talk about the legislative branch, I think we aught to have
the governor appoint members of congress. It would give us a level of
control over the legislature we don't currently have. They should also be
able to remove them from office and change their reps at will.

Yeah, it is bad. Something called tyranny of the majority, something the
framers intended to keep away.
