I used to be an X-Men fan as well - but, I didn't like how they kept adding more and more comics per month. To me, the story was the most important element - and with 5+ issues per month, it began to get costly. I hated knowing that I was missing even the most basic side plot, so, I pretty much gave it up cold turkey. I pretty much gave up on any comics except for the Vertigo ones. (Sandman is, and shall always be, the best comic - ever.)
