and I think that it is a complete cop out to defend the current
administration's lackluster performance by saying that the guy who
didn't get elected and isn't in charge now and  _cannot_ make any
decisions affecting public policy, foreign or domestic, would have
been worse simply because you think he _might_ have been.

The fact is, he is _not_ now in a position to deal with what this
administration is dealing with, so sitting around and supposing what
he _might_ have done is useless.

I might as well say that a cruise missile strike launched by the Gore
Administration in March of 2001 that never occurred took out Bin Laden
while he was sleeping and prevented 9/11 from happening later that
year.
