There's nothing wrong with answering the question as long as we return
to the reason the question was asked in the first place. The question
was posed in response to a statement about where we are being led by
the current president.

Instead of refuting the statement by saying "I don't think we're
headed into the door...etc" because "I think Bush will solve this
problem this way" the question was posed, "what if Gore was
president?"

What purpose does that serve if not to deflect criticism from the guy
actually responsible for the leadership of this country?

I actually think that Bush is on the right track, but I have my fears
that, as with Iraq, he'll be led down a path that promises glory and
instead of listening to the people saying "all glory is fleeting"
he'll be listening to the Valkyries and their war-song...
