Carpooling and public transportation are not viable options, because 1) no
one I work with lives close to me and 2) public transportation in DC is more
expensive than driving.

I wound up buying a 2006 Corolla S over the weekend. Bought it new for 15
and change. 40 MPG on the highway and only $20 more than what I was paying
on the jeep

Thanks

Scott

Subject: Re: Hybrid drivers:

scott, I'm not sure what the battery life is, however - the net cost
of driving a hybrid is probably going to be higher than your jeep
simply because of the additional cost of the hybrid car itself.

if you are strictly looking to save money, carpooling or takeing
public transportation is still going to beat the parnts off hybrids.

they are great for warm fuzzies, but warm fuzzies don't pay the bills.
