Carpooling and public transportation are not viable options, because 1) no one I work with lives close to me and 2) public transportation in DC is more expensive than driving.
I wound up buying a 2006 Corolla S over the weekend. Bought it new for 15 and change. 40 MPG on the highway and only $20 more than what I was paying on the jeep Thanks Scott Scott A.
