I've seen it happen before. The problem is that in many (and I'm willing to be most) schools, from grade 5 or 6 through to high school tend to be very group oriented. Those who do not fit with the group are persecuted.
During the school prayer case I was mentioning earlier, NPR interviewed several students about the case. The most interesting comment was that one girl said she believed strongly in freedom of religion, for Christians only. Other groups shouldn't have it since they were not in the majority. They were able to bring the case forward anonymously because of harassment. Such intolerance is very common in many places in the US. larry -- Larry C.
