Do you really think that a statement like "If only we could ban people that think like you from voting." isn't a personal attack?
Millions of people vote purely on party, straight line ticket voting regardless of the individuals they are voting for. How is that different? Millions of people voted for Ross Perot based on nothing more than he was not part of the political machinary of the time. How is that any different? I would say that although I doubt I would use the same logic I can see where someone would vote for a woman for the sake of change, much like many of the millions who voted for Perot for a change. I doubt many would acknowledge it but I bet there are millions who would vote for a candidate based solely on religion or race as well. I wonder how many voted for that good Catholic boy back in 1959, just because he was catholic. I'd love to see the demographics pertaining to those who support Jesse Jackson. How many believe or even listen to his positions on current issues vs. how are simply voting for the Black candidate. I say these people are no more dangerous than those who blindly vote straight party line, or those who blindly believe whatever their politicians and big business tell them. >Don't read it as a personal attack, read it for its content. >Do you really think it's good to have people choose a candidate based >solely on gender? > > >On 5/11/06, Gruss Gott wrote: >> > Sam wrote: >> > If only we could ban people that think like you from voting. :) >> > >> >> I think, even jokingly, we should knock off the personal attacks. >> And, yes, I'm as guilty as anyone else and, yes, I expect to be held >> to the same standard. >> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:206612 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
