I know this is a dead horse, but I agree completely on teaching
creation in school. I'm really a huge supporter of teaching
humanities in school. I took a comparative religion class in college
and liked it alot.

I also took Astronomy, a science class, where they mentioned in
passing that ancient peoples had a number of elaborate religious based
explanations for the stars and the planets. However, they did not
teach these as an "alternate scientific theory".

As far as what's "fair" - there are alot of things in this world that
aren't "fair". When I was a kid I thought it wasn't fair that I was
only allowed eat two cookies. When I was in college it wasn't fair
that the drinking age was 21. Life's not fair, and I really don't
care about bending over backwards to make someone feel all warm and
fuzzy by teaching kids religion as science just to shut up some
fundamentalists.

But in the end - it's not going to really matter.
